FAQs for AI
Do I need technical expertise to work with you?

Not at all. We translate AI into plain business terms focused on commercial value.

Will you try to sell us software?

No. We’re independent advisors. We only recommend tools that fit your business - sometimes, the right answer is to wait.

How long does it take to see value?

Often weeks, not months. Even small AI changes can free up time and reduce costs quickly.

Is an AI Readiness Assessment really free?

Yes, it's completely free with no obligations and you'll receive a personalised report for your business.

Do I need technical knowledge?

Not at all. We explain everything in plain business terms focused on commercial results.

How long does it take?

The AI Readiness Assessment will take 2-3 minutes to complete and you'll receive your results immediately.

Will I have to buy software after the assessment?

No. The assessment is purely advisory. We’ll tell you where AI might fit but we don't sell software. If you want to work towards an AI plan, the next step after the assessment is our AI Workshop to identify pain points and set goals.

How long does an AI workshop take?

Usually half a day to a full day, depending on the complexity of your business. The report and action summary will then take about a week to complete.

Do we need technical knowledge to take part in an AI Workshop?

No. The session is focused on business processes and outcomes, not coding or technical detail.

Will you push us to buy AI software?

No. We’re independent consultants. If AI isn’t right for you yet, we’ll say so.

Do we need to complete the AI Readiness Assessment first?

Yes - it ensures the workshop is tailored to your current position and priorities.

Who should attend an AI Workshop?

Key decision-makers - typically leadership, operations and finance - rather than technical teams alone.

Do we need to prepare anything in advance?

Just complete the AI Readiness Assessment and share basic context on your processes and systems.

What do we get after the workshop?

A prioritised summary of AI opportunities, business goals and recommended next steps within our Rose, Thorn, Bud framework, ready to feed into an AI roadmap.

Is an AI roadmap just a strategy document?

No. It’s a practical, phased plan with timelines, costs and measurable outcomes, not just high-level theory.

Do we need to do an AI workshop first?

Yes. The workshop uncovers opportunities and priorities that feed into the roadmap.

How long does it take to build a roadmap?

Typically 2–4 weeks, depending on complexity.

Do we have to implement everything in the AI Roadmap?

No. It’s flexible - you can phase adoption based on budget and priorities.

Do we have to commit to AI Implementation?

No. The roadmap gives you options - you decide when and how to proceed.

What is AI implementation in business?

AI implementation is the process of integrating artificial intelligence tools into your existing operations - from automating admin tasks to improving decision-making and customer experiences. At AI Expert, implementation doesn’t stop at plugging in software. We ensure AI fits your workflows, aligns with compliance requirements and delivers measurable results rather than disruption.

How long does AI implementation take?

The timeline depends on your starting point and goals. A small-scale automation project can be up and running in weeks, while complex integrations - like linking multiple systems or building custom models - may take several months. Our phased approach (Assessment → Workshop → Roadmap → Implementation → Optimisation) ensures speed without cutting corners.

How much does AI implementation cost?

Costs vary depending on scope and complexity. Off‑the‑shelf tools can be implemented at relatively low cost, while bespoke AI solutions require more investment. At AI Expert, we map out costs upfront in your AI Roadmap, so you have a clear picture of spend, ROI potential and when you’ll start seeing returns.

What challenges do businesses face when implementing AI?

The most common hurdles are:

  • Data readiness (messy or incomplete data slows adoption)
  • Team buy-in (AI fails if staff aren’t onboard)
  • Compliance risks (privacy, copyright, and regulation)
  • Vendor reliability (choosing tools that will survive and scale)

AI Expert helps you address these issues before implementation begins to avoid wasted time and costly mistakes.

How does AI Expert support AI implementation?

We handle the heavy lifting - from choosing reliable tools to integrating them into your systems and training your team. Our ongoing optimisation and compliance oversight ensure your AI solution stays valuable, scalable and legally sound long after launch. We’re here to make AI work for your business.

What is AI optimisation?

AI optimisation is about fine‑tuning your existing AI tools so they deliver better results over time - improving accuracy, speeding up processes and cutting wasted costs. At AI Expert, we regularly review performance, tweak workflows and ensure the tools evolve as your business does.

Why does AI need ongoing optimisation?

AI tools don’t stay “done” - models drift, business needs change and regulations evolve. Without optimisation, performance drops and risks rise. Ongoing support ensures your AI continues delivering value rather than becoming another forgotten piece of tech.

What problems can AI optimisation solve?

Common issues include tools producing irrelevant results, teams not using features effectively or costs spiralling due to inefficient set‑ups. Optimisation fixes these problems - tightening workflows, improving accuracy and boosting ROI without a complete rebuild.

How often should AI tools be reviewed?

We recommend quarterly reviews for most SMEs, with deeper audits during major business or regulatory changes. AI Expert builds these reviews into our support plans, so you’re always ahead of potential risks and inefficiencies.

What does AI Expert’s optimisation service include?

We analyse performance data, review user adoption, adjust configurations, and retrain teams where needed. We also flag emerging compliance or security risks. The goal: AI that keeps working hard for your business long after implementation.

What is AI training for businesses?

AI training equips your team with the skills and confidence to use AI tools effectively in their day‑to‑day roles. At AI Expert, training is practical - no jargon, no tech overload - just the knowledge staff need to adopt AI and get results fast.

Why is AI training important?

Even the best AI tools fail if staff don’t use them properly. Training ensures adoption, reduces resistance to change and helps avoid costly mistakes caused by misunderstanding how the tools work.

Who in my business needs AI training?

It depends on the tools you’re adopting. We tailor sessions for everyone from leadership (strategy and compliance) to front‑line staff (practical daily use). This ensures every part of the organisation is aligned on how AI fits into workflows.

What does AI Expert’s training involve?

We run role‑specific workshops, create easy‑to‑follow guides and provide live demonstrations tailored to your tools and processes. Our focus is on giving your team confidence and clarity - not overwhelming them with unnecessary detail.

Can AI training be ongoing?

Yes. As tools evolve and new features roll out, we provide refresher sessions and updates to keep your team current. Continuous learning ensures your business stays competitive and compliant as AI advances.

What is AI compliance?

AI compliance means ensuring your AI tools meet legal, ethical and regulatory standards - from data privacy laws to emerging frameworks like the EU AI Act. It’s about protecting your business from legal, financial and reputational risks.

Why does AI compliance matter for SMEs?

Non‑compliance can lead to heavy fines, lawsuits or brand damage. With AI regulations evolving rapidly, SMEs need to stay ahead - not just to avoid penalties, but to build trust with customers, partners and investors.

What are the biggest compliance risks with AI?

Key risks include:

  • Using biased or unverified data
  • Mishandling personal or sensitive information
  • Breaching copyright with AI‑generated content
  • Failing to document decision‑making processes

AI Expert helps identify and mitigate these risks before they become costly problems.

How does AI Expert approach AI compliance?

We build compliance into every stage - from readiness assessments to implementation and optimisation. This includes creating governance frameworks, documenting risk assessments and ensuring tools meet current and emerging regulations.

Do compliance requirements change over time?

Yes. AI laws are evolving fast, with new frameworks being introduced in the UK, EU and beyond. AI Expert provides ongoing monitoring and policy updates so your AI tools remain compliant as regulations shift.

What does an AI Roadmap include?

It covers priority areas for AI adoption, required data and systems work, vendor recommendations, implementation timelines, training plans, and governance measures to keep you compliant.

What is AI Development?

AI Development is the process of building custom tools, models or systems that automate or enhance business operations using artificial intelligence.

How long does a typical project take?

Depending on complexity, most AI Development projects take between 4–12 weeks, including testing and training.

Do you build everything from scratch?

Yes and no, depending on your requirements. We work smart and can use proven tools, APIs and platforms like OpenAI, AWS and LangChain to build fast and keep costs down, or we can build a bespoke system specifically for your needs from scratch.

What does it cost?

Projects can start from as little as £5,000 depending on scope, although this is rare. We only build what’s necessary to deliver results but will first scope and provide a full spec list that breaks down the costs, as well as potential pitfalls and how we will address them. From there we work on fortnightly sprints to deliver the bespoke solution.

Can my existing systems integrate with AI tools?

In most cases, yes. We design AI solutions to work with your current tech stack - whether that’s your CRM, ERP, spreadsheets or customer service tools, so you don’t need to rebuild everything from scratch.

What is OpenClaw?

OpenClaw is an open-source autonomous AI agent that runs locally on your machine or server and performs real tasks for you, from managing inboxes and calendars to executing workflows and automating actions across apps. It was formerly known as Clawdbot and Moltbot and integrates with popular messaging platforms.

Is OpenClaw free to use?

Yes, the OpenClaw software itself is open source and free. However, using it with external large language models (like GPT or Claude) may incur API usage costs and other integrations may have associated fees.

Why is OpenClaw considered a security risk?

OpenClaw agents can require extensive permissions (including access to emails, calendars, files, network resources and more) making them a potential target for malware and supply chain vulnerabilities. Skills (extensions) in the marketplace are not vetted and malicious or poorly configured ones have already been found to steal credentials and deliver malware.

What are 'skills' in OpenClaw?

Skills are modular add-ons that extend an agent’s capabilities. They can include executable code or scripts, which increases flexibility but also creates significant risk if they are malicious or poorly configured because they run with full agent privileges. Our ClawBot in a Box AI Solution avoids this issues on set-up.

Is OpenClaw suitable for business use?

Out of the box, OpenClaw is primarily suited for tech enthusiasts and advanced users. For business deployments, secure configuration, governance and ongoing monitoring are essential because of its access to sensitive systems. That’s exactly why OpenClaw in a Box exists, to make enterprise deployment safe and controlled.

How does OpenClaw in a Box make this safer?

OpenClaw in a Box provides secure deployment by:

  • Vetting and scanning skills for risks before use
  • Onboarding and training users so they don’t expose data unintentionally
  • Monitoring agent activity and security posture continually
  • Providing governance and remote control to shut down unsafe behaviour

This reduces the chance of vulnerabilities being exploited compared to unmanaged, DIY installations.

What happens if an agent starts to behave incorrectly?

Without proper governance, agents could act unpredictably or harm systems. With OpenClaw in a Box, monitoring tools and control mechanisms allow you (or our team) to intervene or shut down an agent remotely if needed.

Is the AI Readiness Assessment really free?

Yes. It’s completely free and there’s no obligation afterward. We built it to help businesses see if AI is worth exploring before spending money unnecessarily.

Do I need technical knowledge?

Not at all. We speak business, not tech jargon. Everything we do is explained in plain language focused on commercial results.

Will someone follow up with a sales call?

If your results show you’re a good fit for AI, we may reach out to see if you’d like to explore next steps — but only if it makes commercial sense for you. No pushy sales calls.

Is AI only for big businesses?

No. Many of the biggest gains come from automating small, repeatable tasks in small and mid-sized businesses. You don’t need to be a giant enterprise to benefit from AI.
